Proverbs 31 -

I just love this book of the bible. It is so wise. I dedicate this to my dear friend:

Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.

Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.

She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls.

She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.

In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:

"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Yes, It's been a while.

So much has happened in the last mm.. 2-ish months? Seems like I only update once every month now, if not less. Think I'm more interested in reading abt people's lives rather than have people read abt mine

So anyhoo. Here is an update of what has happened!

  • Been to several 21sts - JQ's great venue, Amy great speeches, Ophelia great atmosphere, Fiona great dress-ups (I'm so sorry girl I didn't stay for long) and apologies to Monica!

  • Lost my glasses. So devastating! but got a new pair... not sure how i feel abt them yet. Think i chose them when i couldn't see properly cos i don't wear contacts. Got a hair cut from springy. ha ha ha. I'm satisfied

  • Got an offer with Deloitte for summer vacation... doing first intake commencing 27th of November - 23rd of December. It will be a short 3.5 weeks. Prob enough to get a small feel, yet not enough to get sick of it! But all my thanks and praise I cannot keep for myself. It was not due to my spectacular marks (yeah right) that got me through. It was not due to my 'oh so wonderful' personality, it wasn't even due to luck. I attribute this success all to my God who helped me thru it. Thank you Lord, you believed in me even when I didn't.

  • Have currently completed 2 exams out of a possible 3. Yep that's right. Only doing three subs this sem. It's great and I highly recommend it. Will finish coming monday at 11:30am. Let's hope my already low motivation levels will be enough to carry me through Chinese 6 to a pass!

  • The Monash Book Club is officially affiliated - Thanks to those who managed to make it to the inaugural meeting to make it a success! We now have our little "club" with our resident Treasurer - Shauna Lye, Secretary - Michelle Leung, Information officer - Amy Burr, Vice president - Lam Nyugen, and President - Yours truly.

  • Had last day of uni with a few of my friends who will be graduating this yr and off to the big bad corporate world  bye bye Dougie, Steven, Kexin, DNG, Shming, Jackson, Rob, Henry, JQ, Jason, Wancy, and Ali. You will be missed  But welcome back Ricky, Carrie and Lam who have been MIA - missing in action... taken by IBL. Shall see you next yr again.

  • Happy Birthday to my baby bro. Twenty is hardly a boy anymore but I'll always look after you  Tried to make him a chocolate fondue surprise/experiment out of Lindt chocolate, whilst battling through studying for CMS. keke it was um yum?

  • Did my tax returns. It's actually quite easy on E-tax. Ha ha.. Thanks Wes! and after 1 week i've already received my Notice of Assessment. So quick!

  • Booked tickets to go up to Sydney on Dec 26th Boxing day for $91 (one way) for a shopping holiday. On the same flight as JQ, he he. Originally also to go up to Cunnamulla which is a town located at the South of Queensland AKA middle of no-where, (there isn't even an airport there so you have to train/coach for a couple of hours) for volunteer work with Aboriginal youths, but some things have come up and I'm no longer 100% sure that we will be going as a team due to too many concerns, which is most sad  So anyway this has been on my mind quite a bit and hence the reason why i probably can't study for chinese atm -_- Anyway, trying to maintain a positive attitude and know that everything will work out fine... somehow.

Things to do when I finish exams:

  • Shop til i drop with necessities.. ie. Work clothing. Yipee.
  • Purchase a new phone. Yes Jen, I know it is way over due.

Hence:

  • Will stop procrastinating for now.

A little bit sad!

Hello everyone,

Long time no blog. So I'm at work ATM and it's quite slow paced. Got another 2 hours but good thing I have the internet to keep me entertained.. ish.

It's been a hectic last few weeks from the application process for summer vacation work to spastic psychometric tests, problem solving and IQ tests to, interviews, rejections, final round interviews and then ... rejections. Argh! The waiting process could kill a person I reckon. well nearly anyway

On top of this, there have been uni assessments for every subject and as some of you may know, the starting up of Monash's first Book Club.. which has proven to be a bit of a challenge. Guess this is a bit of a difference to abt 2 months ago where I was getting so upset cos everything was so pointless and unchallenging.

So the reason why I am a tad sad today is because I got a rejection letter from Ernst & Young. After dedicating a whole day to them from 9am til 3:30pm being involved with the interview process, they just decide to send me a stupid rejection letter stating the obvious. No feedback, nothing..I'm so resentful! I plan to call and ask for feedback. he he.. and also ANZ! It's been a week and 3/4 nearly 2 weeks after we had our group assessment and they haven't even got the decency to send a rejection letter. I can accept rejection, just don't leave me hanging for heaven's sake.

Ok, I feel heaps better now that's out of my system  I shall get over it very soon. I'm still awaiting my last behavioural interview with Deloitte - Growth Solutions which'll be on next tuesday and a call from Horwath hopefully some time soonnnn.

On a lighter note, a very big CONGRATULATIONS is owing to the beautiful Jen Got and sweet sweet Ange for getting offers from top firms! I am so proud of you girls and we're all slightly jealous of you both  But I couldn't have picked any other two people more deserving. And Chin, who's just destined for the corporate world!!

Thanks Lam, Ricky and Mish... for your supportive chats! we've all been in the same boat and know what it feels like to be at a bit of a hopeless pitt waiting and waiting! But it's great to know that you're not the only one feeling like that. Altho I hope for nothing more than success for you guys.

On a side note, it's been confirmed! Monash Book Club's inaugural meeting will be held in 2 weeks time.

Date: Thursday 5th October

Time: 1pm for approx 20 mins

Location: Menzies building W310 (west)

Free nibbles will be provided, so please come along and vote for your book club committee! We need a minimum headcount of 20 people for it to be a success and approved to go on. Spread the word to your friends at Monash and see you there!

Love Sarah.

What a wonderful day *smiles*

You know when you've just had a mediocre week and just want to get out of that sort of half-half lifestyle... then comes a day that naturally plays itself out to be just so damn nice? Well i've just had one of those days

Went to Brunswick street with wes for breakfast at a sweet cafe called 'Joes Garage' - I highly recommend it. Don't you just  it when places serve all day breakfasts.. or at least breakfast until 3pm. They truly do understand the aussie culture of 'cubs' - A new term i learnt thanks to the Herald Sun meaning 'Cashed up Bogans'. Then we discovered this little flea market called the 'Rose St market' selling all those little antiques and vintage flavoured items. Following that, after an unsuccessful venture of checking out the final days of the myer clearance sale, headed off to Borders - The most wonderful place in the world to be on a cold winters day.

For the book lovers  or what not, I have two book recommendations:

Mao's last dancer - Li, Cun Xin

I've been scoutting around for this book at the lowest price. Think the cheapest is at Myers $21.40. Normal rrp is $32.95

A cultural book containing fine details describing the tough Chinese life style following Mao's revolutionary movement and the impact it had on the poorest of poor families. It's a brilliant book reflecting strong family values and integrity that we hardly acknowledge in todays society. This book reminds me of my heritage and what life would possibly have been like for my great great grandparents and beyond. Definitely helps me appreciate what a life i have here and more respect to my parents for toughing it out, working hard to earn the lifestyle we now have.

The Book Thief - Markus Zusack

I have yet to add this to my collection but is definitely up there on the list.

Set in the times of WWII, a little girl learns to read. Apparently this is against the rules and soon she discovers her love affair for words and literature. Attending rallies where Nazi revoluntionists held cult-like meetings to burn books in order to re-educate the people of Munich, this girl would inconspicuously steal them and hide them to preserve and read. Obviously she gets into a heap of trouble, encountering death along the way.

I think this book is written in a most clever fashion, so if you're into intelligent writing, give it a go!

Anyway, enough abt books. I want to build a library in my room. Remove all the unnecessary furniture in there and set up a reading area

Continuing on with my beautiful day, walking along south bank and soaking in the rare sun-shine was an added bonus for free. Yay. Bumped into Joey and Christian who also didn't have to work on that fine Saturday.. ekeke and then off to dinner.

The night ended sweetly with lifegroups - meeting up with my girls once again: Charlotte, Loraine, Serena and my baby Josie. meehee with wholesome discussions on self-confidence and what that meant for girls our age. Very applicable

Here are some pics of my partay! It was a most memorable night and i highly recommend everyone turning 21 to throw a party. It'll last a life-time of memories and good fun. Apparently i have used up my storage for the month? So i could only upload these few...

My girls from 3cv

Baby bro and Beautiful cousin Amy

Wes and I.. meehee and mags in the background

Shangy bunch - Serina, Kay, Chin, Amy and Christa

Beautiful carrie - Long time friend

Yes I am alive... he he

Hello lovelies,

Know it's been a LONG time since i last updated. ekeke guess i am the very meaning of a procrastinator. It's past exams and i am still procrastinating. So what have I been up to ever since my long awaited freedom?

I've:

  • Been sick with the flu which made me sleep for a few days.. -_-
  • Turned 21.. he he.. thanks everyone for your kinda sms's and nice words through the world wide web. Even though i was pretty much bed-ridden for the whole day, i still felt loved
  • Watched Superman - It was alright though i'd admit a tad corny
  • Searched for a dress for my par-tay
  • Pretty much been a complete bum sleeping late and waking up late - Gotta love it.

But some exciting news, well i thought so anyway. Wesley surprised me and took me to watch Disney on Ice. how cute is that  It was a really nice night... surrounded by thousands of tiny kids n all. I thoroughly enjoyed it

Hm so just thought i'd quickly update. Hope to do so again soon, but right now, Myer's 'History making Clearance sale' is calling my name. Sorta mirrors 'Make Poverty History' slogan. Oh dear me.

Time to go before i think too much,

Love Sarah.
